This is the Life

I have been doing lots of thinking lately, pondering my life and where its headed. And in doing so I realized that I was overdoing it. No matter what, we can't plan life exactly as we think it should be. It seems that no matter where we are in life, what we have, we look at the things that we don't have or haven't accomplished yet, and just wish that we could be there already and that when it would happen we would be happier or that life would be just a little easier. So after I realized this, I thought to myself "Why just not make the most of what I have right now?" Why wait for something to happen in order for me to feel happy? Why not just enjoy life as it is right now? I don't know what is going to happen tomorrow, and if I am living for tomorrow, then I am going to miss out on today. So DON"T!! LIVE FOR TODAY!!! :) I am so grateful for the life and circumstances that I am in right now, that I am married to the most wonderful man ever and that I have

David Archuleta Concert 12/04/2009

Image
Tonight I went to the David Archuleta concert right here in Rexburg, Idaho in the Hart Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. and it was AMAZING! I am so thankful that I was able to go and with my wonderful friend Mirela! It was my first real celebrity concert ever and I LOVED IT!!! The rush of excitement when the first song David sang started was unbelievable, now I know why people scream. LOL. The Concert started off with Benton Paul, another LDS artist who is great! He sings songs similar to the genre of Gavin Degraw, Jason Mraz and the Fray. And then after an half hour intermission, David took the floor!!! :) He is AMAZING in concert, I was blown away by his energy and charisma and overall presence on stage, he really is such a sweet down to earth teenager. Its awesome. Half the concert was his pop/soul songs from his hit album David Archuleta and the other half were songs from his new album Christmas from the Heart. It was great to hear him sing Christmas Carols along with his greatest hits. It

So while we were in Utah, I wanted to play photographer and take some snapshots of the family. So here are some of them! Enjoy. Here are from left to right: Roberto, my brother Nephi, my Dad, and brothers Joseph and Danny. It was my Dad's bday the day after Thanksgiving. Oh happy day! Me, My Mom and my only sister Emily. Our cute little nephew Dante Cedeno. My Dad on his 49th. Love you Papi! Well that's all folks! :)

Thanksgiving Family Visit

Image
This Thanksgiving, we went to Salt Lake City to visit family. For those of you who don't know, our families are both in Salt Lake, they actually live within a block of each other. This Thanksgiving we had dinner with my family. My Mom made a delicious feast and I helped by making the biscuits below and helping out with her famous potato salad. It was so good! Here are a picture of the biscuits: We were in Salt Lake for a total of five days and it flew by so fast! We loved being able to spend time with family and eat and eat and EAT! haha We are looking forward to spending Christmas with Roberto's family. In case anyone is wondering, obviously we still visit both families every time we go. :) I'll be putting up more pictures of the festivities in the post right after this one. Hope your turkey day was great!

Gratitude

I know that its not Thanksgiving yet, but as I was thinking of what to post about, I thought this would fit in with the Holidays coming up. This is a time of year where we reflect even more so on the things that we have been given and how grateful we should be. So, I want to take this time to just list some things that I am grateful for. I am grateful for my own little family, which is made up of Roberto and I for now. I am grateful for my parents and my siblings, and pretty much anyone else I call family. I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ, my Savior and my Heavenly Father. I am grateful for friendship and happiness that comes from having good friends. I am grateful for the country I live in, the freedoms I have and the peaceful happy life I live. There are obviously a million things I could write, but for now, that will do. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, and that we will show an attitude of gratitude. What are you grateful for? =^_^=

Girls just wanna have fun

Image
So a couple months back I had noticed that since I had been married, my time with just girls was limited to hanging out with my friend Jennifer who used to be my roommate and Relief Society activities. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just that I wondered what it would it be like to hang out with just girls outside of those things. And I even had to think to myself, what would we do? lol But after asking my friend Jennifer about it, it didn't take very long to come up with things we could do. Anyway, I had my first 'girls night' about two months ago and I just had one again last night. It was GREAT! We watched a chick flick, talked, ate some treats and played cards. There is something about being with just women that is needed, and I just wanted to share how good it feels to get together with friends and have that time. I know that it can be hard to be the person that initiates things like this, but honestly, just do it, you won't regret it and the people you

He knows what's best

I'm sure everyone has heard that God knows what's best for us, and that's why we don't always get what we want, when we want it, or even at all sometimes. These past three months I have learned this personally. IT IS TRUE! I was wanting a job so badly, applying everywhere and anything, and I was so sick of not having anything happen. But you know when something finally happened????? When I forgot about the whole deal, that's right, when I focused my mind on something else. During these past three months I truly learned that the key to forgetting about your problems, is focusing on other people. And now because of it, I know people so much better than I did before, and how much more important it is to me now to make those relationships. Anyway, today I got a phone call from the child and family resource center in Rexburg. I had had an interview a couple of weeks ago, and I had completely forgotten about them since they hadn't called since then. For those of you w

Halloween '09

Image
Happy Halloween everyone! So this Halloween Roberto and I decided to dress up as a 70s couple. Roberto wore his Afro wig and collared shirt and I dressed up as a hippie. Our ward had a party last night and it was so much fun. We had food and music, which we provided since Roberto has a sound system, and we danced the night away. Tonight we have another get together with some neighbors. I don't think I've ever had a Halloween as eventful as this one. It's FUN! I also got a chance to carve a pumpkin this year, ALL BY MYSELF! I couldn't believe how good it turned out. Roberto was at work and I knew we wouldn't have enough time to do it together once he got back since we were taking it to the party. I started out with one pattern and ended up doing something totally different. LOL. It was a little hard at first getting the top off of the pumpkin, but after that it wasn't that bad, even fun. Here's how it turned out: Hope your Halloween is great!

Scouting for Food

Today Roberto and I were able to go help with the Scouting for Food Drive. It was the first time that I had ever participated in such an event. It was amazing! I don't think I've ever handled that much food before. But to think that so many families from all over town had donated the food, I was grateful for charity. It was hard after a while moving so many heavy boxes full of food, but it was such a good cause that you wanted to push yourself even more. Wish I could've taken pictures, but there aren't any for me to share. Just imagine boxes and boxes full of canned goods and dry food and people loading and unloading them. I am grateful that there are such programs and that we were able to be a part of it. :)

Hola!

Hello there to all our family and friends. This is our first blog and we are excited to join all you bloggers out there! Since this is the first post, I thought I would just give a quick summary of our life right now. Roberto and I are currently in Rexburg, Idaho where we are both attending BYU-Idaho. This time of year we are off from school, so Roberto is working, doing landscaping and taking two night classes and I am looking for a job. We have been married for a little over a year and we are loving every moment together. Looking for a job in Rexburg has been tough (I've been looking since July), but in the mean time it has been a great opportunity for me to learn and grow from those around me. Recently I was able to find a temporary position for someone handing out flyers for their new website. Their paying me $50 bucks to do it! So I'm glad it's something. Other than that, I usually visit other people who are home all day, so if you want company, let me know! :) Roberto
