Spring!
Hey there!
The weather is getting beautiful and we are enjoying it the best we can. This past month brought many festivities.
Roberto turned 32 on May 8th. We celebrated by going out to lunch at a Peruvian restaurant in Salt Lake called Del Mar Al Lago. We were joined by his parents and a couple of his brothers. He also got to go to see Iron Man 3 with his brothers (I had to go back home and pick up Samuel who was being watched by my Mom while I was at lunch with Roberto, we're a one car family) He also got to enjoy some ice cream from Cold Stone. Later that evening he joined us at my parent's home for some red velvet cake!
The day before Mother's Day we went out to breakfast at Kneader's Cafe & Bakery. The food there is amazingly fresh and wholesome. We ordered some French Toast with a side of fruit and some orange juice. On Sunday, after church we went to my parent's home and had dinner with them. I love being so close to my family.
This past weekend I was able to go to a baby shower of my dear friend Kirsten Shoell whom I have known since high school. She is pregnant with her first baby and it's a boy! I am so happy for her! The baby shower was great! They asked everyone to bring a book with a note in it versus bringing a card and I thought it was such a cute idea! Definitely something I would like to do with our next baby (when that happens, that is, just clarifying) I loved that I was able to be there. It was such a beautiful day.
While I was at the shower, Roberto bought a bike! He's been wanting to get one and he finally went to get one. He's used it quite a bit already. On Memorial Day we had a picnic at a nearby lakeside with my mom and siblings. Roberto and my brother Danny brought along their bikes and they rode alongside the Lake. Roberto even put Samuel on the bike with him and Samuel LOVES it! He's put him on the bike a couple times more since then and he always looks forward to it. It's cute. We had fun trying to feed the ducks and watching other people play with parachutes and kites.
I also received the CD with our family photos on it. I was so psyched! They came out so well. Here are one of my faves:

Samuel is getting so big! Mike says, "He's gonna be one handsome little dude." Maybe we can arrange for him and Madie to go to the same college together... ;)
