Halloween '09

Image
Happy Halloween everyone! So this Halloween Roberto and I decided to dress up as a 70s couple. Roberto wore his Afro wig and collared shirt and I dressed up as a hippie. Our ward had a party last night and it was so much fun. We had food and music, which we provided since Roberto has a sound system, and we danced the night away. Tonight we have another get together with some neighbors. I don't think I've ever had a Halloween as eventful as this one. It's FUN! I also got a chance to carve a pumpkin this year, ALL BY MYSELF! I couldn't believe how good it turned out. Roberto was at work and I knew we wouldn't have enough time to do it together once he got back since we were taking it to the party. I started out with one pattern and ended up doing something totally different. LOL. It was a little hard at first getting the top off of the pumpkin, but after that it wasn't that bad, even fun. Here's how it turned out: Hope your Halloween is great!

Scouting for Food

Today Roberto and I were able to go help with the Scouting for Food Drive. It was the first time that I had ever participated in such an event. It was amazing! I don't think I've ever handled that much food before. But to think that so many families from all over town had donated the food, I was grateful for charity. It was hard after a while moving so many heavy boxes full of food, but it was such a good cause that you wanted to push yourself even more. Wish I could've taken pictures, but there aren't any for me to share. Just imagine boxes and boxes full of canned goods and dry food and people loading and unloading them. I am grateful that there are such programs and that we were able to be a part of it. :)

Hola!

Hello there to all our family and friends. This is our first blog and we are excited to join all you bloggers out there! Since this is the first post, I thought I would just give a quick summary of our life right now. Roberto and I are currently in Rexburg, Idaho where we are both attending BYU-Idaho. This time of year we are off from school, so Roberto is working, doing landscaping and taking two night classes and I am looking for a job. We have been married for a little over a year and we are loving every moment together. Looking for a job in Rexburg has been tough (I've been looking since July), but in the mean time it has been a great opportunity for me to learn and grow from those around me. Recently I was able to find a temporary position for someone handing out flyers for their new website. Their paying me $50 bucks to do it! So I'm glad it's something. Other than that, I usually visit other people who are home all day, so if you want company, let me know! :) Roberto
